Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Datia has emerged as the eighth airport of Madhya Pradesh. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has granted Madhya Pradesh's Datia Airport a licence as a public aerodrome, under the 3C/VFR category.

Elated, CM Mohan Yadav took to X to express his happiness. Sharing the pictures of the airport, he wrote, "Madhya Pradesh gets another gift in the field of air services...

"Today, another chapter of progress has been added to the journey of Madhya Pradesh under the leadership of the respected Prime Minister Modi ji. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has granted a license to Datia airport, developed in an area of ​​118 acres, as a public aerodrome under the 3C/VFR category. This will be the 8th public aerodrome airport of Madhya Pradesh, which will be available for public use. Soon, Satna and Datia airports will be formally inaugurated. On behalf of the citizens of Madhya Pradesh, especially Datia, heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the respected Prime Minister for this gift."

Datia Airport spans over 118 acres, with runway 1,810 meters long and 30 meters wide. The terminal building is built over 768 square meters. Its passenger handling capacity stands at 100 per hour. The apron can accommodate two ATR-72 aircraft.

The airport is equipped with X-ray machines (RB & HB), ETD, CCTV systems, DFMD (Door Frame Metal Detector), HHMD (Handheld Metal Detector), walkie-talkies, RT (Radiotelephony) sets, and baggage handling system.

Satna and Datia airports will soon be formally inaugurated, following which flight operations for the general public will commence.
