Bhind (Madhya Pradesh): Three accused who fired at Umri toll plaza in Madhya Pradesh's Bhind have been arrested after a police chase and a gun battle on Thursday night. Two accused have sustained bullet injuries.
According to information, on the evening of February 16, 9 unknown people arrived on three bikes at the Umri toll plaza and started creating a ruckus.
They beat up the toll employees, fired gunshots, and fled. The police identified the accused on the basis of the CCTV footage and started raiding the hideouts of all the accused.
The police received a tip-off that accused Bhola Gurjar, resident of Parsen police station. Bijauli Gwalior, accused Anuj Rajawat, resident of Bagiya Pura, and accused Gajendra Singh Bhadauria, resident of Raipura, were on their way in a car. Under the direction of Superintendent of Police Asit Yadav and guidance of DSP Deepak Singh Tomar, Umri police station in-charge Shiv Pratap Singh, along with the force, reached to arrest the accused. As soon as the accused saw the police, they started firing and tried to escape in the car, but one of the tires of the car got stuck in a pothole on the roadside near Dauniyapura Sikhahta.
The accused, Bhola Gurjar and Anuj Rajawat, got down from the car and ran towards the ravine and started firing at the police. The cops took out their pistols and fired back in self-defence. The bullet hit the legs of accused Bhola Gurjar and Anuj Rajawat. Scared, accused Gajendra Singh Bhadoria surrendered himself to the police.
All three were arrested immediately. The two injured accused were admitted to the district hospital for treatment, and the police have started questioning the accused Gajendra Singh Bhadoria about the remaining accused.
