Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The state government on Friday reconstituted a high-power committee to redress grievances of doctors who are protesting against the delay in implementation Dynamic Assured Career Progression (DACP). The DACP is time-bound promotion of medical and dental doctors, akin to time pay scale. On February 17, 2023, the committee was constituted. To make amendments, the state government has reconstituted the committee. Principal secretary, health, will be chairman and director, medical education, will be convener of the committee.
The other members are commissioner (public health), director public health, Chikitsak Mahasangh convener Dr Rakesh Malviya, general secretary of Medical Teachers’ Association Dr Ashok Thakur, vice-president of Medical Officers’ Association Dr RC Verma, Chikitsak Mahasangh advisor Dr Rahuk Rokde, medical officers association’s Dr Aditya Saxena, senior surgeon Dr Abhishek Deshmukh, DME deputy director Dr Vaibhav Jain, contractual medical officers’ association state president Dr Lokesh Raghuvanshi, medical officer association’s Dr Mahesh Khachriya, and JUDA’s Dr Kuldeep Gupta. On Friday, the doctors torched sub-standard medicines in the state as mark of protest.
In Bhopal, doctors torched the sub-standard medicines on Hamidia Hospital campus. Dr Rakesh Malviya, convener of Chikitsak Mahasangh, said it was a statewide protest. “Our demands are nothing new. Even High Court has instructed for implementation. As per cabinet decision dated October 4, 2023, the benefit of 7th Pay Commission should be given to medical teachers and the basic salary along with NPA of doctors of all the departments of the state should be determined. The order of approved time scale pay scale (DACP equivalent) to the doctors of various departments of the state should be implemented immediately within the stipulated time frame. Besides, there should be proper safety of doctors in hospitals.”
