Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a woman was gangraped by four men in Bengaluru’s Koramangala area. The alleged crime took place on a hotel terrace at around midnight on Thursday. The woman reportedly works at a catering service.
According to news agency PTI, the woman, in her 30s, was waiting at Jyothi Nivas College junction of Koramangala when four men in their 20s approached her. They started conversation with her.The woman is married.
The accused then invited her for dinner at a hotel room. The accused also robbed the victim and forced her to leave the hotel after the alleged crime, reported India Today.. After reaching the home, the woman narrated her ordeal to her husband. The victim then called emergency number 112 and informed the police.
Authorities immediately swung into action. Three accused were arrested. Meanwhile, a manhunt operation has been launched to nab the fourth accused. The arrested accused have been identified as Ajit, Vishwas, and Shivu. They were from West Bengal and Uttarakhand.
"Based on the complaint, we have registered a case at Koramangala police station under Section 70 (gang rape) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and arrested three accused. The fourth accused has also been identified, and efforts are underway to nab him," Joint Commissioner (East) Ramesh Banoth told PTI.
As per the office, in the initial investigation, it was found that the woman had gone to meet her friend. A detailed investigation has been launched.
