Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Now, passengers will be allowed entry at the railway station only if they have tickets to avoid overcrowding. The preparations have been made a Jabalpur Junction as well as Katni and Satna stations as these are located on Prayagraj railway route.

Similarly, the passengers will allowed entry only before the train's arrival time.

The announcement aims to control the crowd of devotees in the last phase of Maha Kumbh and avert Delhi-like stampede.

Additional number of commercial and security personnel will be deployed at the entrance of all three railway stations starting February 22 till Mahashivratri.

According to information, after ticket-checking at the gate, the passengers will be allowed entry only if the train is on time. Passengers will be stopped in the temporary waiting room outside the station till the arrival of the train. For this, temporary waiting rooms are being expanded.

The decision was taken after 18 people died in a stampede at over-crowded New Delhi Railway Station.

Following which, vigilance has also been increased in West Central Railway.

Lakhs of passengers from across India are travelling to Prayagraj every day by rail, road and airways to attend the Maha Kumbh that is scheduled to conclude on February 26.

Footfall is likely to increase significantly in the final week. To avoid the risk of accidents at the platforms, the Western Central Railways chalked out a new ticket-checking plan. Also, it has been decided to allow passengers to enter the station from only one gate.
