A shocking incident of domestic violence has come to light in the Gangapur Road area of Nashik, where a husband brutally murdered his wife at home. The accused, Chhatragun Muralidhar Gore (50), first attacked his wife, Savita Chhatragun Gore (45), with a sharp object and later beat her with a cooker lid, resulting in her death on the spot. After committing the crime, he fled the scene but was later apprehended by the police.

Police Inspector Jagvendrasinh Rajput informed that the tragic event occurred on Tuesday, February 4, around noon at Swastik Niwas Society in the DK Nagar area. According to reports, the couple had been arguing for several days over their daughter’s love marriage. On the day of the incident, they were packing their belongings to move to a new residence when a heated argument escalated into violence.

Wife struck with sharp object first

During the altercation, Chhatragun struck Savita on the head with a sharp object and then beat her with a cooker lid. Savita collapsed onto the bed in a pool of blood. Their son was at work when the incident took place.

The couple’s daughter, Mukta Balaji Likhe, arrived home shortly after the murder and was horrified to find the crime scene. When she opened the door, her father quickly fled the scene, leaving Mukta to discover her mother lying lifeless in the bedroom. Shocked and terrified, Mukta immediately sought help from neighbors, who promptly alerted the Gangapur police.

Gangapur police station’s senior inspector, Sushil Jumde, and police inspector, Jagvendrasinh Rajput, rushed to the scene. Based on Mukta's complaint, a case was registered against Chhatragun Gore, and he was arrested within hours.

The police are investigating further to uncover more details about the motive behind the murder.
