Kohli has rejoined the Indian squad for the three-match ODI series against England, starting on February 6 in Nagpur. These matches will serve as crucial preparation for the Champions Trophy 2025, which begins on February 19 with eight teams competing for the title.
Virat Kohli on the verge of historic milestone
Kohli is on the verge of reaching another historic milestone. He needs just 96 more runs to become only the third batter in ODI history to surpass 14,000 runs. So far, only Sachin Tendulkar and Kumar Sangakkara have achieved this feat, but Kohli has the opportunity to become the fastest to reach this landmark.
The former India skipper also stands a chance to create a major record against England. He is currently has 1340 runs in ODIs against England. If he scores 360 runs in this series against England, he will have 1700 runs in the 50-over format against the opposition. He will thus become the first player in the world to achieve this feat.
