Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and BJP state president Kiran Dev unveiled the party's manifesto for the upcoming urban body elections, titled "Atal Vishwas Patra." The manifesto, dedicated to the memory of Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his 100th birth anniversary, highlights BJP's vision for the future of Chhattisgarh's urban areas, with a strong emphasis on development and public service.

Chief Minister Sai emphasized that the manifesto represents a commitment to shaping the future of urban bodies and fulfilling the promises made by the BJP government.

He criticized the Congress for its alleged corruption and mismanagement over the past five years, asserting that the people of Chhattisgarh had lost trust in the Congress and had turned to the BJP for progress.

He also mentioned key achievements of the state government, such as the increase in tendu leaf collection honorariums and the implementation of Prime Minister Modi's guarantees in the state.

Kiran Dev, in his address, pointed to the significant role of Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the state's development, recalling how the BJP under Dr. Raman Singh's leadership had transformed Chhattisgarh. He criticized the Congress for neglecting urban bodies and alleged corruption during their tenure. He also outlined the extensive public consultation process, where the party gathered suggestions from across the state, incorporating them into the manifesto.

The manifesto outlines a series of steps aimed at improving urban development, including a new law to grant ownership of Nazul land to leaseholders, the rapid completion of housing projects under PMAY-U, and the launch of the "My City App" for easy access to municipal services.

A special focus is placed on health, with initiatives like sickle cell anaemia screening centres and the distribution of free sanitary napkins in schools. The BJP also promises to strengthen water supply systems, improve sanitation, and provide financial aid to street vendors under PM Swanidhi Yojana.

Dev also stressed the party’s focus on education, with plans to increase library seats, establish skill development centres, and provide free Wi-Fi in schools and colleges. In addition, the manifesto includes provisions for empowering women through self-help groups and enhancing employment opportunities for youth.

With the launch of this manifesto, BJP aims to offer concrete solutions to urban challenges, focusing on citizen needs and local governance. Deo concluded by stressing that the BJP views power as a medium to serve the public, pledging to eliminate corruption and restore trust in the state's administration.
