Guwahati: Guwahati City Police arrested six youths from Guwahati along with a Bangladeshi woman at a hotel in the city, following allegations of involvement in the production of explicit blue film content.

The individuals were taken into custody by Dispur Police, with the detained youths identified as Sofikul Haque and Jahangir Alam.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the woman, had illegally entered Assam via Meghalaya along with six other Bangladeshis women without a valid visa through a mediator Zakir. Zakir allegedly sent six women to Hyderabad for jobs and kept Meen Akhtar who later handed over the duo taking Rs 7000 only.

She is currently being held at Dispur Police Station, while the two youths are undergoing interrogation by senior officials from Hatigaon Police Station. Later four more youths were arrested by police based on interrogation.

The arrests were made at Hotel Aditya Residency, located near Last Gate, Dispur. Sources indicate that on February 1, rooms 101, 102, and 105 were booked by two other unidentified individuals. During the booking, Meen Akhtar and one of the accused reportedly posed as a couple.

Authorities are now probing the extent of the alleged activities and any potential links to a broader network.
