After winning the T20I series against England 4-1, Team India will now be gearing up for the ODI series, which starts on February 6.
A video on social media showed a huge crowd outside the airport, eagerly waiting to see their favorite players as Team India arrived in Nagpur for the first ODI. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, and Yashasvi Jaiswal were among the early arrivals. The rest of the squad and the England team are expected to come by Monday.
India dominated the T20I series, finishing with a big 150-run win in Mumbai, where young Abhishek Sharma scored a brilliant century. Now, with the ICC Champions Trophy starting on February 19, this three-match ODI series is crucial for India to fine-tune their squad and gain momentum.
Rohit & Virat struggled in Ranji Trophy
Shubman Gill recently hit a century for Punjab, while Ravindra Jadeja took seven wickets for Saurashtra in the Ranji Trophy. However, senior players like Rohit Sharma & Virat Kohli struggled in their comeback domestic matches.
With limited ODIs played in 2024, this series will help India test their squad depth, build rhythm, and refine their strategy against a strong England side.
