Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Even as Van Vihar National Park officer's were trying to overcome the sorrow of tiger Chhota Bhim’s death, a six month old female leopard cub died at Van Vihar while undergoing the treatment on Monday.

It was on January 9 when forest officials found a female leopard cub injured in Samardha forest range of Bhopal division. They then took it to Van Vihar National Park for treatment. Since then, wildlife doctors have been treating it. 

According to wildlife doctors of Van Vihar, the female leopard cub died due to traumatic shock.

After the autopsy, the body of the female leopard cub was burnt in presence of a senior Forest officer. 

Chhota Bhim died on Sunday

It was on Sunday that a full grown tiger, which was rescued from the jungle of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve in November, died due to heart failure at Van Vihar.

At the time of rescue in Bandhavgarh, this tiger was seen moving around the jungle with snare wire wrapped around its neck. 

The tiger had suffered a deep wound due to snare wire. Its death had left everyone shocked at Van Vihar as it had shown improvement while undergoing the treatment. It was in the recovery stage, still it succumbed to its injuries.
