Ottawa: After US President Donald Trump imposed heavy tariffs on Canadian products on Saturday, Canadian Hockey fans booed the United States National anthem during Senators game. The video of the incident also surfaced online and soon it went viral on social media.
In the video, it could be seen that the crowd of around 20,000 spectators at the Canadian Tire Centre booed as Ottawa-based singer Mandia sang the US national anthem. It could be seen as a mark of protest against Trump's imposition of 25 per cent tariffs on Canadian goods, except for energy supplies. Earlier, the tariffs on Canadian goods were just 10 per cent.

Trump on Saturday imposed steep tariffs on imports from Canada, Mexico and China. All of these countries are major trade partners of the US. Through an executive order, Trump imposed 25 per cent tariff on Canada and Mexico and 10 per cent on goods imported from China.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, Canada also imposed 25 per cent tariffs on $155 billion in US imports.
"Tariffs violate a free trade agreement that was negotiated a few years ago. Tariffs will have real consequences for the American people. This will include immediate tariffs on C$30 billion worth of goods as of Tuesday. This will be followed by further tariffs on C$125 billion worth of American products in 21 days time," said Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at a press conference.
