Ghaziabad (UP): Ghaziabad police have arrested three men for allegedly using a gay dating app to lure individuals into intimate encounters, secretly filming them and then blackmailing them for money. The accused, identified as Rinku, Ajay, and Shubham, were taken into custody, while two others remain at large.
Details Of The Case
The case came to light after a victim reported being blackmailed. He had connected with someone on Grindr and agreed to meet at a rented flat. During their encounter, a group of individuals recorded them without consent and later extorted Rs 1.40 lakh from him. The victim approached the police, leading to an investigation.
Assistant Police Commissioner Swatantra Kumar Singh stated that a special operation was conducted based on intelligence, resulting in the arrest of the accused near NDRF Road. Rinku, the alleged mastermind, orchestrated the scheme, while Ajay was responsible for luring the victim, according to an NDTV report.
