Khargone (Madhya Pradesh): Khargone Police claimed to have busted a notorious gang involved in stealing valuables under the guise of offering cupboard lock and key services.
According to the police, Pappu Singh Dangi (32) and Sunil Singh (23), of Bakaner village were apprehended for their roles in a case registered at Khargone police station.
On January 11, a resident of Bamandi village reported that the duo entered his home under the guise of repairing a cupboard locker. Under the guise of fixing the lock, they took the keys to the cupboard from him and sent him outside to fetch the iron nut.
They made away with gold and silver jewellery valued at approximately Rs 2,40,000. The stolen items included a gold mangal sutra, gold pearls, earrings, and silver anklets. In response, police initiated a detailed investigation and formed a special team to investigate.
Utilising CCTV footage and police records, they tracked down the suspects and recovered the stolen jewellery along with a motorcycle worth Rs 60,000. The total value of the recovered goods amounts to around Rs 3 lakh. Both suspects have prior criminal records with Manawar police station and were now facing charges in court.
