Kishinchand Chellaram (KC) College’s Mass Media Department launched the first day of its two-day annual intercollegiate media fest, Blitzkrieg, on Saturday. The event, which marks the commencement of the 22-year-old tradition, was graced by distinguished guests including Prof. Dr. Tejashree Shanbhag, Principal of KC College, Prof. Dr. Shalini Sinha, Vice Principal and Head of the Mass Media Department, and various faculty members.
The inauguration ceremony began with the lighting of lamps, followed by words of encouragement from Dr. Shanbhag, who highlighted Blitzkrieg’s standing as Mumbai's oldest media festival. “Blitzkrieg is the oldest media festival in Mumbai, continuing with a 22-year legacy,” she remarked. Prof. Sinha, in her address, referred to the event as “the carnival of the mass media department,” wishing the participants the best for the festival.
The organising committee kept the audience engaged with a dynamic dance performance, creatively representing the festival’s theme, ‘Threads of Deception’. They also launched the annual Blitzkrieg newsletter, ‘The Blitz Express’, which detailed the pre-events that helped create the buzz around Blitzkrieg.
Among the standout events was the fashion show, where participants impressed the crowd with stunning outfits and innovative designs. The street dance event, judged by Bharat Sagar and Tejas Dunbale, added a high-energy atmosphere to the festival, featuring impressive moves and stunts. Meanwhile, the Rap event was judged by Sensei Qala, and the Shark Tank event, which showcased entrepreneurial spirit, was judged by Harsh Maskara, co-founder of Metaman, and Jay Sotta, co-founder of Cup-ji.
In addition to the competitive events, Blitzkrieg also featured the promotion of the web series ‘Power of Paanch’. The event attracted a star-studded cast including Yash Sehgal, Tanvi Gadkari, Sagar Dholakia, Aditya Raj Arora, Omar Kandhari, Jayveer Juneja, and Bianca Arora. The trailer of the web series was premiered to the excited crowd at the venue.
