Sitharaman on Friday tabled the Economic Survey in Parliament. As per the Economic Survey, the GDP growth rate is estimated to slip to 4-year low of 6.4 per cent in the current financial year ending March 2025. India's economy is likely to grow at 6.3-6.8 per cent in 2025-26

-Good News For Middle Class?

The second budget of Modi 3.0 is riding high on expectations. The Budget comes ahead of Delhi polls.

The country will also see an election to the state assembly of Bihar later this year.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hinted at some bonanza for the middle class with his cryptic tweet on Friday: "I pray that Maa Lakshmi continues to bless the poor and middle class of our country."

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has departed from the Ministry of Finance for Rashtrapati Bhavan, to meet President Droupadi Murmu.

Budget 2025 copies reach Parliament. Though Finance Minister presents a paperless Budget, the MPs still get a physical copy of the budget.

Nirmala Sitharaman started the tradition of paperless budget presentations by reading her budget speech on a tablet.
