Philadelphia: A medical transport jet with crashed on the road in Philadelphia on Friday about 30 seconds after taking off. There were reportedly two people onboard the plane. The crash reportedly set many homes ablaze resulting in multiple casualties. The footage of the falling plane was captured by a doorbell camera. The incident took place less than five kilometres from Northeast Philadelphia Airport. According to reports there six people onboard the plane. All six passengers are feared dead in the crash.

It exploded in a fireball as it hit the ground in a residential neighborhood near a shopping mall and major roadway, reported The Associated Press. Several videos of the incident also surfaced online. The plane crashed in a busy intersection near Roosevelt Mall, blocking the road. Authorities immediately swung into action and started a rescue operation.

"All we heard was a loud roar and didn't know where it was coming from. We just turned around and saw the big plume," said Jim Quinn, the owner of the doorbell camera," as reported by the global news agency.

The plane, a Learjet 55, took off from the airport at 6:06 pm. After climbing to an altitude of 1,600 feet (487 meters), it disappeared from the radar. It was en route to Springfield, Missour. The plane was registered o a company operating as Med Jets, according to the flight tracking website Flight Aware.

The Philadelphia crash came two days after a deadly mid-air collision between a passenger jet and a military helicopter over the Potomac River near the Reagan National Airport in Washington DC. There were 60 passengers and four crew members onboard the plane and four soldiers on the military chopper. All 67 people reportedly died in the deadly crash.
