Alleging that 2 lakh Bangladeshi infiltrators have entered the country in the last six months, with at least 100 residing in Malegaon, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya has submitted evidence to Divisional Commissioner Praveen Gedam and demanded strict action, including sedition charges against the culprits.
Somaiya visited Nashik on Friday to investigate the presence of Bangladeshi infiltrators in Malegaon and to push for action against them. Speaking to the media after discussions with Gedam at the District Collector's Office, he claimed that a large-scale mechanism is facilitating the resettlement of infiltrators in India, allegedly funded by crores of rupees.
He further alleged that ₹389 crore from a financial scam in Malegaon was used for the rehabilitation of Bangladeshis. These activities, he stated, pose a serious threat to national security and were discussed in detail with the Divisional Commissioner.
Somaiya also claimed that “vote jihad” is being carried out in North Maharashtra, with Malegaon and Shirpur acting as hubs. He presented papers as evidence that Bangladeshis have fraudulently obtained birth certificates in Malegaon using fake documents. He pointed out irregularities in official records, stating that the Tehsildar's office issued birth certificates based on missing or non-existent school leaving certificates, indicating a conspiracy involving government employees.
Additionally, he alleged that this scam took place during the assembly elections and that the ration cards held by these infiltrators are bogus, with illegible lettering, questioning how they were accepted as valid documents.
