Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Rajya Shiksha Kendra(RSK) extended deadline on Friday for private schools in Madhya Pradesh to apply for renewal or new recognition for the academic session 2025-26 under Right to Education (RTE) Act. Initially set for January 31, the deadline has now been extended to February 7.

Schools can also apply with a special late fee until February 14. According to official information, several schools in the state, whose recognition is set to expire on March 31, are facing delays in updating registered lease deeds on the Sampada 2 portal.

In light of this, authorities have allowed additional time for applications. As per the RTE Act and Rule 11 of the Recognition Rules, schools failing to apply within the given time frame will automatically lose their recognition.

Operating an unrecognised school would be a violation of the Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, and could lead to legal consequences under Section 18.

The rules mandate that schools must apply for renewal at least 45 days before their recognition expires.

Officials have clarified that no further extension will be granted beyond February 14. All other instructions regarding the recognition process remain unchanged. Schools are advised to complete their applications promptly to avoid any disruptions.
