Having missed the board just once in her last five outings, the highly consistent Jade emerges as the leading contender for the Dr. S.C. Jain Sprinters' Championship, the feature event on the eve of the prestigious Indian Derby, set to take place at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse here on Saturday.

This talented four-year-old filly, trained by the renowned Pesi Shroff, will have the advantage of being ridden by accomplished French jockey Christopher Lemaire. In her most recent appearance, Jade put up a commendable performance, finishing a close second—just a neck behind Timeless Vision—in the R.R. Byramji Sprinter’s Cup. With her strong form and the skilled hands of Lemaire in the saddle, she will be looking to make amends and clinch victory this time.

Among her closest rivals, Snowfall, drawn in Stall seven in this eight-horse contest, is expected to pose a serious challenge. Meanwhile, Time And Tide has shown promise and should also be in contention to secure a place on the board.

The thrilling weekend carnival boasts a staggering prize pool of over ₹4.7 crore featuring 17 high-stakes races with eight races on Saturday (Feb.1) and nine on Sunday with the final two under the floodlights.
