Pune Zilla Parishad has decided to convert 303 primary schools into 'Pune Model Schools' and 108 primary health centres into 'Pune Model Primary Health Centres'. The plan was decided in a meeting led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who is also Pune's Guardian Minister.

Pune Model Schools and Pune Model Primary Health Centres will be equipped with modern facilities. The schools will provide quality education using new technology and the health centres will have advanced medical facilities to improve healthcare services.

Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Gajanan Patil expressed, "Pune Model Schools and Pune Model Primary Health Centres will help improve the quality of education and healthcare. The first 303 schools will be completed in 2025, and an additional 303 schools will be developed annually over the next five years." He added, "Moreover, residential buildings will be constructed for teachers and healthcare staff."

During the meeting, the District Planning Committee also approved the building of 50 Anganwadi centres and the repair of several dams in the district.

To enhance transparency between the public and the administration, Pune Zilla Parishad has launched an e-postal system. This system will enable citizens to track the status of their postal applications, and users will get real-time updates via SMS.
