Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Doctors at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College Hospital in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, declared a 66-year-old patient dead on paper. The incident took place on Monday when the patient was undergoing treatment in Surgery ICU Ward 32.
The hospital's negligence was exposed when the patient's son received an envelope with the death certificate inside. The son ran to the hospital in panic, just to find out that his father is alive.
According to information, the patient admitted has been recognised as 66-year-old Indrajeet Shukla. According to sources, Indrajeet Shukla, admitted in critical condition by his family, was declared dead by doctors at 7:30 PM on January 27. A death certificate was issued, even though he was still alive and undergoing treatment. The error came to light when his son, Ayushman Shukla, received the certificate and rushed to the ward, only to find his father alive and fighting for his life.
To make matters worse, the doctors stopped treating Indrajeet after the mistake and advised the family to transfer him to another hospital. The family, outraged by this negligence, accused the doctors of endangering the patient’s life. Ayushman expressed his disbelief, stating that the doctor gave him a paper saying his father had died, but when he checked, he was alive.
