Stampede Controversy

Sanjay Nishad, a minister in Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath's government, stirred controversy on Wednesday by saying 'minor incidents' like the stampede, often take place when the government is trying to manage movement of crores of people.

As his comments were played up in media, Nishad went in damage control mode and said that the stampede was indeed not a small incident but a tragic one.
