Ruhul Amin Fakir, 57, father of Shariful Islam, 30, accused of a murderous attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his residence, has made a significant claim in an interview with The Free Press Journal.

He asserted that the person seen in the CCTV footage recovered from Saif’s house is not his son. Fakir said that there is no resemblance between his son and the individual seen in the CCTV footage.

“My son went to India in late March or early April, I don't remember the exact date. He didn't have any legal documents and entered India without them. Due to political instability in our country, he was concerned about his future and decided to go to India for work. He worked in bars and restaurants in India and received a salary of around Rs10,000 to 12,000,” he told The Free Press Journal.

“We saw him on television and Facebook after the police arrested him, and we were shocked. I last spoke with him six-seven days ago. After the incident, I havent spoken with him," he said.

Fakir said Mumbai Police was yet to contact him. Islam is his second child. “Islam’s elder brother worksin Dhaka, and his younger brother is studying,” Fakir added. Islam’s father added that his son likes to watch movies and listen to music.
