The much-awaited film, Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, is all set to release in February, and on Wednesday, the trailer of the film was unveiled at a mega event. As the trailer went live online, netizens couldn't help but gush over Vicky, and the surprise element -- Akshaye Khanna.
The trailer of Chhaava introduces Vicky as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of legendary Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. It also shows Rashmika Mandana as Yeshubai Bhosale and Akshaye Khanna as the Mughal leader Aurangzeb.
The trailer gave the audience a glimpse into the mammoth scale that the film has been mounted on, along with some stunning stunts by Vicky. Netizens have already tagged the film as Vicky's 'career best'.
"Goosebumps guaranteed!" a user wrote on X, while another stated, "The most VERSATILE Bollywood actor of the modern era." "Vicky's career best performance loading," gushed another fan.
However, some users felt found Vicky's dialogue-delivery off and underwhelming as well. "Although I was very excited to see Vicky Kaushal in the trailer, it turns out his dialogue presentation and acting glimpses were the only underwhelming aspect of the trailer," a netizen wrote.
At the trailer launch of Chhaava, Vicky revealed that he underwent a massive transformation for the film, which involved gaining 25 kg. "I trained for nearly seven months. I went from 80 kg to 105 kg for this role. Whatever I had in me, I gave it all to this film," he stated.
Chhaava is all set to hit the silver screens on February 14. It has been directed by Laxman Utekar, who has directed films like Luka Chuppi, Mimi, and Zara Hatke Zara Bachke. The film has been produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films.
