Miscreants Attack Cafe Owner, Video Viral
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A group of miscreants assaulted a cafe owner with sticks, rods and swords at Jawahar Chowk on Wednesday evening. A video of the incident went viral on social media platforms in which the accused were seen attacking the cafe owner and his aides.
TT Nagar police station incharge Sudhir Arjaria said Deepak Ahirwar ran a cafe. He informed police that residents Rohit Bali, Cheenu and others refused to pay after taking tea at his cafe. Following an altercation, they returned armed with swords and rods and attacked him and his aides.
An FIR has been registered on his complaint and efforts are underway to trace and nab them. Investigations revealed that the accused have past criminal record, TI Arjaria added.
Cancer Patient Slashes Throat To End Life
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A woman committed suicide by slashing her throat with a blade under Parvalia Sadak police station on Tuesday. The woman was suffering from cancer for several years and has attempted suicide earlier as well.
As per reports, Mubarakpur resident Kanti Ahirwar was suffering from throat cancer for the past many years. Upset over her prolonged illness, Kanti slashed her throat with a blade on Wednesday afternoon.
Kanti’s husband Dharmendra who is a labourer returned home after an hour and found his wife lying in a pool of blood. Kanti was admitted to Hamidia Hospital where she died while undergoing treatment. Police officials said that the woman attempted suicide twice earlier.
Bus Conductor Stabbed While Trying To Prevent Purse Snatching
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Police teams are scanning CCTV footages to identify and arrest the culprit who stabbed a conductor in a moving bus near Karod on Tuesday. It is alleged that the conductor tried to catch the assailant while he was trying to snatch purse from a woman passenger.
However, police officials said that the incident took place following an altercation over a seat. Police officials said that the video of the incident of a clash was recorded in the CCTV cameras installed in the bus, which runs on the route number 306 from Lalghati to AIIMS.
The incident took place near Karod where the culprit jumped out from the bus and fled. Footages of all CCTV cameras on the vicinity were being checked to identify the culprit and trace his escape route, they added.
It is alleged that the assailant sat next to a woman and was trying to snatch her purse. He whipped out a knife and attacked the bus conductor Kapil Parmar when he tried to nab him. Kapil received injuries in his hand and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Nishatpura police lodged an FIR against the unidentified man who stabbed the conductor after a scuffle over a seat.
Youth Held With Semi Automatic Pistol, Ammunition
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Gautam Nagar police arrested a youth with a semi automatic pistol and some ammunition. The accused is being questioned further to learn about the source of the firearm, police said.
Gautam Nagar police station incharge Mahendra Singh Thakur said following a tip off police team nabbed a suspect with a pistol and a live cartridge near Union Carbide Factory late Tuesday night. The accused was identified as Altaf Khan (22) of Bhanpur area.
Altaf has two criminal cases registered against him at Chhola Mandir police station. During questioning, Altaf claimed that he purchased the pistol for Rs 20,000 from his cousin who died a year back. However, suspecting that the accused was lying, police took him on remand for a day for further interrogation regarding the firearm, TI added.
Busted: Bihar Thief Gang, 5 Held With Stolen Valuables
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The government railway police on Wednesday busted a gang of thieves hailing from Bihar who used to book seats in air conditioned coaches and would steal luggage of passengers. The GRP arrested five persons and recovered cash and valuables worth over Rs 2.80 lakh from their possession.
Inchrage of GRP police station at Rani Kamlapati Railway Station Mahendra Singh Somvanshi said the arrested gang members were Sanjay Khalifa aka Lathwa, Alok Kumar, Naresh Sharma, Kishor Nat, all residents of different districts of Bihar and Pramod Kumar Srivastava of Lucknow. Stolen jewellery worth Rs 2.68 lakh and Rs 13,500 were recovered from them.
Fire At Ice Factory Causes Panic
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Fire broke out in the garbage lying at an ice factory in Govindpura on Wednesday afternoon, causing panic among locals. Four fire tenders contained the fire after battling with it for over one-and-a-half hours.
According to information, large heaps of plastic pouches used at the ice factory were lying on the premises. At about 3 pm, the fire erupted from garbage heap and soon took a massive form. Fire fighters rushed to the spot after receiving information. Fire officials said that four fire tenders were sent to the spot for controlling blaze. Reasons behind the fire are still to be ascertained, they added.
