Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In a shocking incident, a woman helped her husband in raping an 11-year old girl and even threatened her to keep mum. The incident took place in a village under Nazirabad police station limits of Bhopal district.

An FIR has been registered and the accused man and his wife have been arrested. They were being questioned further in this connection, police said. The family of victim and the accused do odd jobs for living and were known to each other.

Although not related, the victim and her brother used to call the accused woman their sister and were frequent visitors to her home. Nazirabad police station TI Krishna Thakur said the accused Vinay Singh Ahirwar reached the home of the victim on Monday. Vinay took the victim to his home on pretext that his wife was not feeling well.

It is alleged that Vinay took the victim inside the room and raped her while his wife Poona Bai locked the door from outside. The duo then threatened the victim to remain silent or else face the consequences, TI added.

The victim’s family learnt about the incident when she reached home on Tuesday following which they approached police. The accused Vinay Singh and his wife are in twenties and were childless.

Police officials said that Vinay’s wife is being questioned further to ascertain the reasons behind her helping her husband in raping the minor. All angles including revenge, sexual perversion or sorcery are under scanner, officials added.
