Crores of people are attending Maha Kumbh 2025 and taking the holy dip at Triveni Sangam. An elderly taxi driver from Mumbai also happened to travel to Prayagraj and soak himself in the festivities. A Mumbai-based man shared on X that his taxi driver, who usually drops him off at a nearby railway station, attended the religious gathering and took the 'Amrit Snan' on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti (January 14).

The X post is now going. It narrates how the cab driver determinedly went to Prayagraj for bathing at the confluence of the three holy rivers - Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. It also states the passenger's reaction to the incident.

"There’s an old taxi driver in my neighbourhood called Ram Jha, he drops to me the station quite often, I hadn’t seen him since a week, so today I asked him why? Guess what? he spent 3 days at the Mahakumbh", an X user named Sameer wrote.

Passenger does 'Charan Sparsh' of the Maha Kumbh returnee

Sameer mentioned the taxi driver boarded a railway train to Prayagraj and expressed his devotion by performing 'Amrit Snan' at the holy place during Maha Kumbh. Jha travelled on the general compartment of the Godan Express which routes from Lokmanyatilak Terminus (LTT) to Gorakhpur Junction (GKP).

Sameer was moved by the taxi driver's 'bhakti'. He touched Jha's feet to seek his blessings.

On learning that Jha had been to Maha Kumbh Mela, the passenger did 'Charan Sparsh' of the man.

In the X post, Sameer pointed out that he desires to attend Maha Kumbh this year, which the taxi driver had already been.

"I am convinced that Sanatana Dharma & Sanskriti is rock solid because of the poor rural population whose bhakti is unparalleled...I did charan sparsh of Kaka and thanked him for giving me a valuable lesson - I have been thinking about going for Mahakumbh since a few days, this poor man JUST DID IT", he posted.

The post was uploaded on January 22 and within few hours being shared online, it received over 11,000 views and a lot of comments. Sameer's post about his taxi driver attending Maha Kumbh 2025 has gone viral on X and touched netizens' hearts.
