Pets often sit next to you when you are working your laptop, but a cat in China sent a mail to its owner's company and made her lose her job. A woman from Southwestern China's Chongqing has made the headlines after her pet cat emailed her resignation letter to her boss.
Cat sends resignation letter to boss
A 25-year-old woman, who has nine cats at her home, was planning to quit her job after the Spring Festival (also known as Chinese New Year), which is scheduled on January 29. She had already drafted her resignation email. One of her cats accidentally clicked the send button, resulting the Chinese woman to not only lose her job but also a yearly bonus she would have otherwise received.
The news was reported by a Chinese media outlet named South China Morning Post (SCMP). The report stated her cat hit “send” while she was hesitating over dispatching a resignation letter to her boss. The incident took place on January 5.
Boss ignores blame; woman loses job
The woman lost her job after the notorious cat's act. It was learned that the woman tried reaching out to her boss and explaining what actually happened, but she was ignored. The boss didn't consider her blaming the cat for the resignation email. She lost her job with that cat-sent email.
SCMP mentioned that the CCTV camera installed inside her home recorded one of her cats jumping onto her desk and pressing the "send" button on the laptop for her and dispatching the email to her boss. She posted the clip on a Chinese social media platform.
