South superstar Ram Charan is reportedly set to slash his fees for his next with producer Dil Raju, after their latest venture Game Changer tanked miserably at the box office. The filmmaker incurred heavy losses due to Game Changer's failure, and thus, Ram Charan has decided to take a paycut.
According to reports, Ram Charan has signed another film with Dil Raju despite the failure of Game Changer. However, in a relief for the producer, the RRR star will take a significant cut in his paycheck for the film.
Game Changer, which released on January 10, failed terribly at the box office. After being made on a budget of a whopping Rs 450 crore and despite extensive promotions, the film has managed to earn only Rs 127 crore so far in the country.
Ram Charan was reportedly paid Rs 65 crore for his double-role in the film, while Kiara Advani, who plays the female lead in the film, reportedly got herself a paycheck of Rs 5-7 crore.
Out of the Rs 450 crore budget for Game Changer, Rs 75 crore was spent on the four songs in the film. The official music partners of the film later shared a post on X, justifying the staggering amount for four songs. The music label, Saregama, revealed that all four songs -- Jaragandi, Raa Macha Macha, Naanaa Hyraanaa and Dhop -- were made on a massive scale, with hundreds of dancers and extravagant sets, and thus the exaggerated cost.
Ram Charan and Dil Raju are yet to confirm the reports about the actor's pay cut.
In other news, Dil Raju's residence and offices in Hyderabad were raided by Income Tax officials on Tuesday for reasons unknown. The filmmaker is yet to issue an official statement on the same. The reason behind the raids is yet to be known.
