Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A tragic incident was reported in state capital Bhopal, where a two-year-old child accidentally fell into a cauldron of boiling oil and died. The incident happened during an engagement function at a guest house in the Nishatpura area late Tuesday night.
The parents were busy in the event when their toddler crawled to the kitchen. He reached near the cauldron full of boiling oil while playing and stumbled.
According to reports, Chhola Mandir area resident Rajesh Sahu and his wife, accompanied by their two children aged 7 and 2 years, had gone to attend the engagement ceremony of their relative at a guest house in the Nishatpura area. After the ceremony was over, the guests were taking dinner while Rajesh’s two-year-old son Akshat was playing nearby.
It is reported that Akshat strayed towards the kitchen where no one was present at that time.
The child reached near the cauldron of oil, which was still hot.
Sub Inspector at Nishatpura police station Sukhbir Yadav said the child went near the cauldron and somehow stumbled and fell into it. Rajesh and other guests rushed towards the kitchen on hearing cries of the child and took him out. However, Akshat had received severe burns by then. He was taken to a private hospital where the child was declared dead on arrival, SI Yadav added.
