China has often made headlines for people quitting their conventional jobs and moving to something way different from their previous role. Earlier a Chinese woman welcomed a job at a cemetery to avoid office politics and feel 'peaceful', and now, you see another lady switching her workplace to the next level.
From flight attendant to pig farmer
A 27-year-old woman living in Shanghai has gone viral for leaving her flight attendant job to become a pig farmer.
She was identified as Yang Yanxi, who had a rural family background. According to a local news media outlet, the woman originally hailed from Northeastern China's Heilongjiang province and was a graduate with five years of service at a top airline company.
Yang was said to be associated with a Shanghai airline until she decided to embrace a completely new career. She quit her job as a air hostess to work at a pig farm.
Once dressed in airline uniform and groomed well to assist flight passengers, Yang now looks after pigs at a relative's farm.
Reason behind Chinese woman's job switch
What made the Chinese woman change her job? Firstly, she chose to work at a farm near her house to ensure she spent good time with her parents and family.
The decision of her switching her career from a flight job to farm came with guilt. SCMP quoted her as saying, "My parents always told me good news but hid the bad. Now I wanted to be with them and did not want to be so far from home".
Now, Yang's job involves preparing food for pigs and raising them. She often uploads videos from her new workplace on social media (Weibo).
