Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Bharatiya Kisan Sangh (BKS) took out a march to press its demand for implementation of 'one nation, one MSP' in Bhopal on Tuesday.

In the memorandum addressing CM, the demands include Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs 4k for paddy and Rs 2700 for wheat. The other demands include MSP of Rs 6k for soybean, 10-hour power supply without tripping, flat weighing machines at Mandi, two-day stay by Patwari at Halka village, proper implementation of Nal-Jal Yojna, recovery date of overdue by banks be extended to May 31.

As per memorandum, paddy procurement is being done at Rs 1k less so MSP of Rs 4k should be ensured. MSP for soybean of Rs 6k in Maharashtra, but in MP, it is not being done.

Central government announces MSPs for 23 crops every year. But its benefits are not availed by all farmers across the country.

Farmers get MSP benefits in only those states where large-scale government procurement is done, while growers in other states are compelled to sell their crops at whatever price they are offered. On recommendations of the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP), the Central government determines MSP of different crops to ensure remunerative prices to growers.
