Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a repeat of Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash's suicide incident, a 28-year-old youth from Indore too committed suicide owing to alleged harassment by his estranged wife on Monday. He hanged himself at his residence in the Banganga area after leaving a 14-page suicide note blaming his wife and in-laws for his death.

In his suicide note, he also appealed to the central government to reform laws, claiming they were being misused by women and urged youth to marry only with legal agreements.

The family members of the deceased staged a protest at Marimata Square, carrying his body and demanding justice for his death and strict action against his wife and in-laws.

Banganga police station in-charge Siyaram Gurjar said that the deceased was identified as Nitin Padiyar, an event photographer. Nitin had a love marriage with Harsha Sharma around five years ago. However, the couple s relationship soured and Harsha moved to her parents' home in Rajasthan, filing for divorce and demanding financial support.

Nitin s family members alleged that she and her family were pressuring him for Rs 30 lakh as part of a settlement. According to the suicide note discovered, the pressure of paying this amount and the stress caused by it led to Nitin taking this extreme step. His family also said that he had been visibly distressed in recent weeks.
