RBL Bank shares entered the new week on a bleak note, as the value of the company stock price stumbled on Monday, January 20.
RBL Bank Results
This came to pass after the Mumbai-based released its quarterly results on January 18. In this result for Q3 of FY25, the company reported a monumental decline in its net profit after tax. An overall decline of a mammoth 85.33 per cent was reported, compared to the quarter before that.
The net profit for the October-December quarter went down to Rs 32.63 crore. This is far behind the Rs 222.52 crore of profit seen during Q2 of FY25 (July-September). In the same quarter of the previous cycle, that is Q3 of FY24 (December 2023), the net profit after tax stood at Rs 233.09 crore.
Whne it comes to a banking corporation, one of the key components are the interest earned. When it comes to RBL bank, the total interest earned in Q3 has seen a slight uptick. The bank accrued interests of Rs 3,536.33 crore. This is higher than the previous quarter's Rs 3,530.93 crore.
It also needs to be noted that, the bank's gross non-performing assets (NPA) increased from Rs 2,581.08 crore in Q2FY25 to Rs 2,701.00 crore.
Furthermore, the amount of the listed entity's total financial indebtedness, including both short- and long-term debt, was Rs 12,791.27 crore.
RBL Shares In Decline
The bank shares have not been doing particularly well of late, in fact, the company shares closed in red, even on Friday, January 17. The RBL shares closed at Rs 155.24, declining by 2.05 per cent or Rs 3.25. The results could add to the current trend of stock price decline.
When we take a closer look at company shares on Monday, the value of the lenders equity dropped further, trading with deeper cuts.
The shares started the trading day on Rs 146.10, far lower than its previous closing of Rs 155.24 per share. The shares quickly recovered thereafter, only to fall off the ledge again. At the time of writing, the overall decline in the share prices stood at 2.71 per cent or Rs 4.20, taking the overall value of the shares of RBL Bank to Rs 150.92 per piece.
