Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Two people, including one from Rajasthan, were arrested with MD drugs worth lakhs from two different areas of the city, police said here on Friday.
According to the crime branch officials, a team was deployed for the arrest of drug peddlers in the city. Acting on a tip-off, the team reached Snehlataganj area and nabbed a person Vishal Rao, resident of Pratapgarh in Rajasthan.
About 53 grams of MD drugs were recovered from him. Vishal is employed in a medical store in his town and has connections with drug suppliers. He brought drugs from Rajasthan to sell them here at a higher price. Another man was arrested from the Chimanbagh area.
He was identified as Rajik Khan, a resident of Juna Risala area of the city. Rajik runs a tyre remoulding shop. He also consumes drugs. About 11 grams of MD drugs were recovered from his possession. In all, two mobile phones, two bikes and MD drugs, all worth Rs 10 lakh, were recovered from the two and they are being questioned about their source of drugs. Search is on for their accomplices.
Three arrested with charas
Khajrana police arrested three people with charas worth Rs 60,000. According to the police, three men named Sohail, Aadil and Sharif were arrested on Friday following a tip-off. About 114 grams of charas was recovered from Sohail and 50 grams from Sharif. They were booked under the relevant section of the NDPS Act and are being questioned about the source of the drugs.
