Mumbai: Government of India has introduced the Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveller Program (FTI-TTP), designed to ease the immigration process for both, Indian citizens and Overseas Indian Citizens.

The system is said to be inspired loosely on the US Global Entry program. This initiative will enable fast-track entry through biometrics-controlled smart gates. This will also eliminate the need for manual passport stamping at Indian borders.

One must register online to be eligible

To be eligible to enjoy the facility, one must apply online and provide their biometrics (fingerprints and facial images), along with other required details as outlined in the application form.

The registration remains valid for up to five years or until the passport's expiration date, whichever comes first.

Once applications are approved, applicants will receive a notification to schedule an appointment for biometric submission.

Registration under the FTI-TTP concludes after verification and confirmation of eligibility. Although a fee was initially planned, the service currently is said to be free of charge.
