Zuckerberg suggests that within ten years, smart glasses can overtake smartphones. He also predicted that people will be keeping their phones tucked away by the time we hit the 2030s. However, smartphones will have all those features for performing specific tasks. However, people could eventually lean towards using smart glasses for day-to-day stuff. The reason? Theu could be more portable and easy to use.
He further highlighted that, “There will come a point where your smartphone will be more often in your pocket than out.” Looking ahead, Apple and Meta are already going big in the ‘Smart glass,’ sector. For example, Apple’s Vision Pro which is betting big on augmented reality wearables. These investments could be great examples of showing that they’re planning to bring smart glass tech at the forefront.
