Mark Zuckerberg, head of Meta, seems to be making some tremors in the world of smartphones.   Zuckerberg is shaking things up by  saying that mobile phones could soon get replaced by smart glasses. 

This statement has brought conundrum in the tech world as giant tech companies such as Apple and Samsung, among others pour their hearts out into making these cutting-edge smartphones. 

Say goodbye to smartphones

Smartphones have been ruling our lives for nearly 30 years. The sudden switch to smart glasses can change the way we get info and keep in touch with people.

Zuckerberg says that he sees smart glasses as “the next major platform after phones”. He also highlighted that they might offer a more natural, easy and social computing vibe. He also added that smart glasses can blend seamlessly into your daily jobs without being  cumbersome. Moreover they have the ability to deliver you with  hands-free functionality.

The future of smart glasses 

Zuckerberg suggests that within ten years, smart glasses can overtake smartphones. He also  predicted that people will be keeping their phones tucked away  by the time we hit the 2030s. However, smartphones will have all those features for performing specific tasks. However, people could eventually lean towards using smart glasses for day-to-day stuff. The reason? Theu could be more portable and easy to use.

He further highlighted that,  “There will come a point where your smartphone will be more often in your pocket than out.” Looking ahead,  Apple and Meta are already going big in the ‘Smart glass,’ sector. For example, Apple’s Vision Pro which is betting big on augmented reality wearables. These investments could be great examples of showing that they’re planning to bring smart glass tech at the forefront.  At this point of time, we might not have any conclusion to this debate, but surely we can get more smartglasses looking at the rising popularity of these devices.
