In what seems to be a robbery bid, Saif Ali Khan was attacked around 2:30 am on Tuesday while he tried to protect his family from the intruder. As per the statement of one of the staff members of the household, the intruder entered the house from the couple's four-year-old son Jeh's bedroom and demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore by holding him and his caretaker hostage.

When Saif intervened, the intruder attacked him leaving him with six wounds, and fled the scene. The Mumbai Police has now launched a massive manhunt to nab the culprit.

Meanwhile, Saif underwent a surgery at Lilavati Hospital on Thursday and he will be discharged by the weekend.
