Mumbai: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday directed officials to develop an online system to make 99% of government services available to citizens through mobile devices.

Speaking at a state cabinet meeting, Fadnavis emphasised that citizens should benefit from government services through online systems, reducing the need for frequent visits to government offices. The meeting, chaired by Fadnavis, was attended by Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, along with other cabinet and state ministers.

Highlighting the current status of services, Fadnavis noted that of the 969 government services notified, 536 are already accessible through the 'Aaple Sarkar' portal, while 90 are available on departmental portals. However, 343 services remain offline. He directed the IT Department to take the lead in integrating these offline services onto the 'Aaple Sarkar' portal within the next 100 days.
