Mumbai: In connection with Saif Ali Khan’s attack case, a staff nurse named Aliyama Philip (56) has recorded her statement with the police. She stated that the man who assaulted Saif had initially entered the room where she and another maid were sleeping along with Saif’s younger child, Jehangir aka Jehbaba (4). In her statement, Philip claimed that the accused, who spoke in Hindi and English, wanted the child and demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore from Saif.
The copy of the statement, which FPJ has accessed, reads that Philip has been Jehangir’s nurse for the past four years and has been taking care of the child.
The statement says, “On January 15, I fed Jehbaba, and around 11 pm, I put him to bed. Later, I and another nurse named Junu, who also takes care of Jeh, went to sleep in the same bedroom. At 2 am, I woke up to some noise. I noticed that the bathroom light was on; however, I thought it must be Kareena madam checking on the baby, so I went back to sleep. Something still didn’t feel right, so I sat up. That’s when I noticed the shadow of a man wearing a cap near the bathroom.”
Philip stated that when she approached the bathroom, she saw the man moving towards Jeh’s bed. “I immediately went to Jeh’s bed, but the man signalled me to keep quiet. Junu also woke up, but he threatened us not to raise an alarm. I picked up Jeh, but the man tried to attack me with a wooden object and a sharp weapon resembling a hacksaw blade, which he was carrying. My fingers were injured during the blade attack. When I asked him what he wanted, he tried moving towards Jehbaba’s bed, he said in English Rs 1 crore."
Junu managed to escape from the room and raised an alarm, prompting Saif and Kareena to rush to the room. “When Saif sir questioned him, the man attacked him with the sharp hacksaw blade. Later, when Geeta, Taimur’s nurse, tried to intervene, she too was attacked. We all then rushed to the upper floor of the house. The remaining house staff woke up, but by the time they searched for the accused, he had already escaped,” her statement further added. Philip said the attacker was 5.5' tall, wearing black trousers, dark shirt and cap. She guessed his age must have been 35 to 40 years old.
