Indore (Madhya Pradesh): On the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Ahilya Bai, the state government has decided to organise the next cabinet meeting in the religious and tourist town of Maheshwar in Khargone on January 24. CM Mohan Yadav will lay the foundation stone of Maheshwar Janapav Lift Irrigation Scheme worth Rs 774 crore in a programme organised in Mandleshwar on the same day.

The district administration is making extensive preparations for this meeting. Divisional commissioner Deepak Singh and Inspector General of Police Anurag held a meeting with officials of the district administration in Maheshwar on Thursday. They also inspected the venue.

MLA Rajkumar Meo, DIG Siddharth Bahuguna, collector Karmaveer Sharma, superintendent of police Dharmaraj Meena, joint collector Satyanarayan Darro and other officials were present in the meeting. It was informed that apart from the CM and members of the Council of Ministers, chief secretary Anurag Jain and other senior officers would also reach Maheshwar for the meeting. Before the cabinet meeting, CM Dr. Yadav and members of the Council of Ministers will reach Maheshwar Fort and visit Rajgadi and the statue of Devi Ahilyabai.

After this, Maa Narmada will be worshipped at Ahilya Ghat and a chunari will be offered to Maa Narmada. Then the CM and members of the Council of Ministers will reach Hotel Narmada Retreat of MPT via Jayastambh Chowk from Ahilya Ghat for the cabinet meeting. After the cabinet meeting, the CM will inaugurate development projects, perform Bhoomi Pujan in Mandleshwar and address a public meeting. He will also visit Madhav Ashram Nyas Gaushala in Mandleshwar.

Later, he will lay the foundation stone of Maheshwar Janapav Lift Irrigation Scheme worth Rs 774 crore in a programme organized in Mandleshwar on the same day. The scheme will expand irrigation facilities in Maheshwar area of Khargone district and benefit farmers. Through this scheme, farmers of Dhar and Indore districts will also get water for irrigation.
