Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The FMCG distributors and retailers of the city are going to launch a major awareness drive against e-commerce and quick commerce companies from January 20 to March 31. Umesh Tiwari, State president of the All India Consumer Products Distributors Federation (AICPDF) informed about it here on Tuesday.

AICPDF represents 400,000 retail distributors of major companies. Tiwari said that there is a question of saving the businesses before the retailers. A meeting of the office bearers of AICPDF was held to discuss challenges posed by e-commerce companies.

It was decided to run an awareness drive among the retailers, under which meetings will be held in 500 districts and 700 other cities of the country to make people aware of the dangers of e-commerce and quick commerce companies. Strategies will also be draw at the local level to save the businesses. The campaign will run from January 20 to March 31. Tiwari said that earlier AICPDF wrote letters to various ministries of the country including the Prime Minister Office and complained against e-commerce companies.

It has also appealed to save the businesses of retailers. Competition Commission of India i.e. CCI has said about investigating against many quick commerce companies on the basis of AICPDF's complaint. It is stated that 4 lakh distributors and 3.5 lakh sub-distributors across the country are associated with AICPDF.
