Tikamgarh (Madhya Pradesh): A 23-year-old woman was shot by a youth at a restaurant in Tikamgarh, leaving her seriously injured.
She was immediately taken to the district hospital for initial treatment and later referred to Jhansi for further care.
According to information, the incident occurred around 2:30 PM on Tuesday at a restaurant on Civil Line Road, where the woman was sitting with 24-year-old Kapil Tiwari.
During their conversation, they had an argument, and Kapil shot her in the chest.
People present at the scene quickly caught Kapil and handed him over to the police.
The police seized a country-made pistol and took him into custody.
According to SP Manohar Mandloi, the initial investigation revealed that the two were in a romantic relationship, but they had stopped talking recently.
Kapil invited the woman to meet, and during their conversation, they argued about marriage, which led to Kapil shooting her with a pistol.
Restaurant Worker Says...
A woman working at the restaurant said the couple entered through the back gate, ordered chowmein, and started talking.
Suddenly, there was a loud noise, and she went outside to find the woman had been shot. She called the police, and by then, people had gathered and caught Kapil.
SP Mandloi visited the district hospital to meet with the victim's family. Meanwhile, a large group of Jain community members gathered at the Kotwali police station, and extra police forces were deployed in the area.
Dr Dinkar Rathore at Tikamgarh District Hospital stated that the woman had a dark-colored circular mark on her left side, consistent with a gunshot wound. She had lost a lot of blood and was admitted to the ICU. After initial treatment, senior doctors referred her to Jhansi for better care.
