Khandwa (Madhya Pradesh): A shocking incident was reported from Madhya Pradesh's Khandwa. Here, some female employees of a spa centre were brutally beaten by belts after they refused to give massage to customer, citing closed hours.
The accused called his eight aides and attacked the owner of the centre and the female staff. Police have booked 11 accused and detained 7 of them. The attackers claimed to be workers of Hindu outfit Bajrang Dal.
The incident occurred when a man came to the spa around 9 PM, close to its closing time.
The spa owner, Mayur Sen, denied him service. The man later returned with about eight others, forcefully entered the spa, and assaulted the girls and the owner with belts before fleeing.
Police officers arrived at the spa center around 12:30 AM after receiving the complaint. The owner and the girls were brought to the police station for questioning.
A case under the Riot Act has been registered against 11 people, and seven of them have been detained. CSP Abhinav Barange inspected the spa center and ordered a review of the CCTV footage to identify the attackers.
The attackers reportedly damaged the spa’s LED TVs to erase evidence.
Two Policemen Present Too
The girls alleged that two policemen were present during the assault and filmed videos instead of stopping the attackers. The attackers claimed to be members of Bajrang Dal and had even called Dial 100 during the incident.
One of the girls said, “They beat us with belts and fists while the police stood by recording videos. Are the police here to protect us or to support such behavior?”
During questioning, a constable admitted to being at the scene and showed the videos he recorded on his phone.
Meanwhile, Padamnagar TI Praveen Arya assured that those responsible, including any officers involved in wrongdoing, would face strict action.
CSP Barange also stated that officers found guilty of misconduct would be suspended.
