The grand Maha Kumbh Mela has officially started in Prayagraj. Today marks the first holy bath, on a highly auspicious day. The festival will continue for 45 days, ending on February 26. Visitors now have unique opportunities to experience the grandeur of this event, including an aerial view through helicopter rides, with the Uttar Pradesh government significantly reducing the ticket prices.

Helicopter rides at affordable prices

Pilgrims and tourists can enjoy breathtaking aerial views of the Maha Kumbh area and the city of Prayagraj from a helicopter. The ride, which lasts 7-8 minutes, is now available at a much lower price of ₹1,296 per person, compared to the earlier cost of ₹3,000. The rides are being operated by Pawan Hans, a government enterprise, and can be booked online at www.upstdc.co.in. These rides will run continuously, depending on weather conditions.

Laser and drone shows at mela

The Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Department has organised several activities to enhance the visitor experience. From January 24 to January 26, there will be water laser shows and drone shows at the Mela site. Famous artists from across India will also perform during the 40-day event, including a special performance by Shankar Mahadevan on January 16 at the Ganga Pandal. The festival will conclude with a grand performance by Mohit Chauhan on February 24.

Apart from cultural performances, the Mela site will feature water and adventure sports, providing a thrilling experience for visitors. This year, the government is making every effort to ensure a memorable time for both pilgrims and tourists.

A meal for all

With the reduced helicopter ride fares, exciting shows, and cultural performances, the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj promises a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Whether it’s taking a holy dip in the sacred waters, enjoying a drone show, or witnessing the Mela from the skies, the event offers something for everyone.
