Team India opener Abhishek Sharma has lashed out at IndiGo staff for misbehaving with him at the Delhi airport on Monday, January 13. The cricketer further stated that he had only a day's holiday to spend with his family before heading to Kolkata for the opening match of a T20I series against England.

Taking to his Instagram account, Abhishek said that he was unnecessarily indirected to different counters causing him to miss the flight. He wrote, "I had the worst experience with Indigo at Delhi airport, and the behaviour of staff, especially counter manager Ms Sushmita Mittal, was absolutely unacceptable."

"I arrived on time at the correct counter, but they redirected me unnecessarily to another counter. only to tell me later that check-in was closed, making me miss my flight. I only had a one-day holiday, which has now been completely ruined. To make it even worse, they are offering no further helpful assistance. This is by far the worst airline experience, and worst staff management I've ever had,"

Abhishek Sharma looks to find form against England in T20I series

Abhishek Sharma has been playing non-stop cricket and recently featured for Punjab in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The left-hander scored 467 runs, including a century and three fifties, in eight matches before heading to the Indian camp for the T20I series against England.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad star made a solid start to his T20I career, scoring a century in only his second match at the highest level — against Zimbabwe in Harare in July 2024. However, he struggled for consistency, going seven innings without a score of 20 or more.

After failing to make an impact in the opening matches of the SOuth Africa tour, Abhishek regained some form towards the latter half of the tour, scoring a fifty in Centurion and a crucial 36 in Johannesburg.
