During the Bangladesh Premier League match between Sylhet Strikers and Khulna Tigers on Sunday, a heated altercation occurred between Bangladesh’s Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Pakistan’s Mohammed Nawaz.

The incident unfolded in the 17th over when Tanzim outsmart Nawaz with a slower ball, resulting in Nawaz chipping the ball to third man, where Zakir Hasan took a comfortable catch.

As Tanzim celebrated the wicket, he sledged Nawaz, leading to a confrontation between the two players. They exchanged verbal abuse, and tensions escalated when they bumped into each other.

The players of Sylhet Strikers intervened to separate the pair and prevent the situation from escalating further.

Sylhet Strikers triumphed over Khulna Tigers by 8 runs.

While batting first, Sylhet Strikers had a shaky start, with openers Rahkeem Cornwall scored 4 runs off 5 balls and George Munsey 2 runs off 7 balls  dismissed cheaply, leaving them at 15/2 in 4.2 overs.

However, Rony Talukdar 56 runs off 44 balls and Zakir Hasan 75* balls off 46 balls steadied the innings with a crucial 106-run partnership off 62 balls. Quick knocks from Aaron Jones 20 runs off 6 balls and Ariful Haque 21* runs off 13 balls propelled Sylhet to a total of 182/5 in their 20 overs.

In response, Khulna Tigers fell short, managing just 174/9 in their allotted 20 overs. William Bosisto top-scored with 43 runs off 40 balls. Sylhet’s bowlers were impressive, with Tanzim Hasan (2/45), Reece Topley (2/45), and Ruyel Miyah (2/28) each taking two wickets. Zakir Hasan’s match-winning knock earned him the Player of the Match award.
