To realize the Fit India dream of the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India had resolved to create a Fit India. In this context, keeping in mind the traditional dance of the tribal society, the Youth Affairs and Sports Department of the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu organized an Inter School Tarpa Dance Competition in Silvassa. The objective of this Fit India Inter School Tarpa Dance Competition is to promote traditional dance and physical activities in the Union Territory.

In pursuance of the above, under the able leadership and guidance of Praful Patel, Honorable Administrator of the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu and Lakshadweep and as per the instructions of Dr. Arun T., Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs and Education Department and with the cooperation of Director of Sports Arun Gupta, Dr. A. P. J. of Silvassa of Union Territory. Fit India Inter School Tarpa Dance Competition was organized on 09 January 2025 in Abdul Kalam Auditorium. 250 participants took part in this competition.

It is noteworthy that Deputy Collector of Silvassa, Amit Kumar was present as the chief guest of this competition. Along with this, representatives of Sports Authority of India, Shyam Budki and Chetan Jadhav were present. Chief Guest Amit Kumar wished all the participants. Department officials Akshay Kotalwar and Devraj Singh Rathod were present in this competition.

In the results of Fit India Inter School Tarpa Dance Competition, first place: Ishu Ruday High School, Dapara, second place: CPS Silvassa (English Medium) and third place: GHSS, Dadra.

The winning players of this competition were honored by the chief guest by giving trophy, medal and certificate. Physical teacher Sunil Pagar and the staff of the department gave their invaluable contribution to make this competition successful.
