Laurene Powell Jobs, the widow of late Apple Inc founder Steve Jobs, is in India, attending the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj (formerly Allahabad). Another development has emerged from Laurene Powell Jobs's much-discussed spiritual visit to UP.
Laurene Powell Jobs Is Now Kamala
Kailashanand Giri Maharaj said that the Akhara has bestowed her with a Hindu name, ‘Kamala’.
The sage said that Powell Jobs is like a daughter to them and will also look to add her to the Akhara Peshawai.
While speaking to new agency ANI, Kailashanand Giri Maharaj said, "I had my 'Peshwai' in Kumbh yesterday. Today, we have come to Kashi to pray to Mahadev that the Kumbh is completed without any obstacles… I came here to invite Mahadev… Our disciple Maharshi Vyasanand is with us from America."
He further added, "Tomorrow he is becoming a Mahamandaleshwar in my Akhara. Lauren Jobs also came here with us... As per our Indian tradition, in Kashi Vishwanath, no other Hindu can touch the Shivling. That's why she was made to see the Shivling from outside... She will also stay in Kumbh and take a dip in Ganga..."
Laurene Powell Jobs' 17-Day Long Stay
For Laurene Powell Jobs, this is a part of her 17 day stay in India. Here, in her fortnight-long stay, Jobs intends to learn more about the Hindu religion and the Sanatana Dharma.
In order to attain greater knowledge, she will be attending 'katha' and 'pravachans' and participating in 'Bhajjans' and 'Kirtans' while camping at her guru's.
The late Aple founder, Steve Jobs, as per reports, didn't believe in God· He, however believed in a higher power which he described as consciousness.
The much publicised and advertised Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 is started on Monday, January 13, 2025, and will conclude on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.
